If you're passing through to prepare for your arrival, take the opportunity to visit the bank! Make an appointment at the bank of your choice and bring valid ID and your next employment contract with you!
In both cases, banks generally ask people from abroad to meet the following conditions:
- Be a private individual acting in a private capacity
- Be of legal age
- Provide proof of address from one of the following documents:
- Energy (electricity, water, etc.), Internet or telephone bill less than 12 months old.
- Tax notice less than 14 months old or rent receipt less than 12 months old.
- In addition, if you are staying with a third party: two-sided proof of identity, proof of address and a sworn statement from the host.
- Provide proof of economic ties with Switzerland from one of the following documents:
- If you are employed: employment contract signed by both parties, payslip or letter from the employer less than 6 months old.
