Majority-owned by the Crédit Agricole Group, Amundi is an asset management company serving corporate and retail clients, with responsible investment as one of the founding pillars of its business.
Its Amundi Valeurs Durables mutual fund, for example, selects shares in European companies whose activities are linked to the development of green technologies: renewable energies, water management, energy efficiency, etc. The aim is to take advantage of growth opportunities in these fast-expanding sectors, while integrating ESG (environmental, social and governance) criteria. In other words, being a player in sustainable development and helping to solve the planet's environmental problems.
Amundi, a global financial player and corporate citizen
At 31 December 2020, Amundi had €1,729 billion in assets under management, making it the leading asset management company in Europe and one of the world's leading players in the sector.
Amundi has cutting-edge expertise and offers a comprehensive range of services, including analysis, turnkey solutions and customised tools. It is constantly updating its methodologies and requirements, excluding issuers with the lowest ESG ratings.
As a natural partner of Crédit Agricole next bank, Amundi is committed to corporate citizenship:
- Apply the principles of corporate social and environmental responsibility (CSR) to its own operations.
- Offer a range of funds that meet the principles of socially responsible investment (SRI), based on environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria that are measured and respected.
At the end of 2020, Amundi managed €378 billion in responsible investment.
In 2021, Amundi will continue to mainstream ESG criteria into its fund offering: "We are convinced that the systematic integration of ESG criteria into investment policies has a positive impact on long-term financial performance. It also allows savings to be allocated taking into account, beyond financial criteria, their impact on society in general", explains Jean-Jacques Barbéris, Head of Institutional & Corporate Clients and ESG at Amundi.
"Another major focus of our ambitions is to continue developing and distributing innovative climate and social solutions," adds Elodie Laugel, Head of Responsible Investment at Amundi.
