Tutorial: Successfully logging in to your online banking for the first time
Ready to get started?
Have the following items ready:
- your two letters: “online banking login details” and “QR code to scan for online banking access”
- your mobile phone
- optional: your computer or tablet, if you wish to log in for the first time using a device other than your phone
Why do I need my phone?
Online banking logins are secured using the CA next bank online banking app. Therefore, your phone (running Android 10 or iOS 16 or later) is required to install the mobile app and authenticate yourself for future logins.
Installing the CA next bank online banking app on your phone
- Go to your usual app store to download the CA next bank online banking app.
Scanning the QR code
- Open the CA next bank online banking app.
- Tap “Register”.
- Tap “Scan QR code”.
- Allow the app to access the camera.
- Scan the QR code shown on your “QR code to scan” letter.
Setting the PIN
- Choose a 6-digit PIN and memorise it.
You will need this code to authenticate yourself and confirm transactions if you do not enable biometric authentication.
Enabling biometric authentication
- Tap “Activate”.
- Read the legal terms and tap “Accept”.
Biometric authentication is optional. However, we recommend enabling it to enhance the security of your logins and transactions. If you prefer to use the PIN, make sure to memorise it so you do not get blocked if you forget it.
Enabling push notifications
- Tap “Activate”.
- Allow your phone to receive real-time notifications.
You can choose not to enable Push notifications. However, we recommend enabling them for the app to function correctly (e.g. for online purchase authentication requests or when receiving a message from your adviser).
Registration complete
- Tap “OK”. Your device has been successfully registered.
Proceed to enter your username.
Entering your username and temporary password
- Tap “Log in”.
- Enter the username and temporary password found in your “online banking login ID” letter.
- Tap “Next”.
Changing your password
- Set a new password, following the criteria displayed on the screen.
- Enter your new password a second time and tap “Save”.
Naming the device
- Enter the name you wish to assign to your phone for your online banking connection.
- Tap “Confirm”.
This name will be used to identify the device in question. This helps you distinguish between devices if you link more than one to your account (mobile, tablet, etc.).
Congratulations: you have finished setting up your online banking!
- You can now access your online banking.
- To log in from your computer or tablet, follow the instructions in the next section.
Logging in via the www.ca-nextbank.ch website
- On www.ca-nextbank.ch, click on the “online banking”button at the top right.
- Enter your username and the password you chose during your first login.
- Click on “Log in”.
- Confirm the login in the CA next bank online banking app.
- Congratulations! You are now logged into your online banking.
