|To save money, you should always try to use your Maestro card for withdrawals and payments exceeding CHF 85. A credit card is more useful for payments of less than CHF 85, for any online purchases, or for when you have exceeded your Maestro card's monthly limit1.

|Your credit card is indispensable for making purchases online. Currently, your Maestro card can be used to make withdrawals and payments in Switzerland and abroad, but you cannot use it to make purchases online.|
|With your Mastercard Silver or Gold, you buy today, and you pay later. At the end of each month, you receive a detailed statement of your transactions and you choose to pay the total due (timed ideally with when you receive your salary - you will not incur any interest) or you pay in several instalments (you spread the payment across several months – you will incur some interest). You can therefore manage your money how you wish and enjoy various advantages.|

The rental insurance will take care of the repairs but you will surely have to pay the excess. An unexpected and unforeseen holiday expense that you had not budgeted for. By using your credit card to pay for a hire car, you benefit from insurance that will take care of this excess2.

|You're thinking of changing your laptop or television. When buying an electronic device or household appliance, the question on everybody's lips is... Do I need the extended warranty offered by the seller? Some would say no because of the price, and the unlucky or superstitious will say yes for fear of it breaking down a few days after the end of the warranty. By paying with your credit card, you need hesitate no longer... if you buy your new laptop with your Mastercard, the warranty will automatically be extended from 12 to 24 months3.

The insurance is applicable to electronic devices bought by credit card. The extended warranty will be for 12 to 24 additional months for repair services that were originally covered by the new appliance's warranty. To benefit from the “Extended warranty”, the incident must be insured, 60% of the purchase price must have been paid with your credit card, the device must have been purchased from a merchant located in one of these countries (Switzerland, Germany, France, Liechtenstein, Italy, Austria, Luxembourg), the device must be intended for personal use, must not be more than 4 years old, and its value must be at least CHF 100.
